It is said that This Qawwali was sung by Amir Khushro for the first time in the 13th century. After then the modification is done by the other poets. Poet Bullen Shah did the major modification in the lyrics of Qawwali in the 18th century. Bullen Shah completely modifies this Qawwali from original Qawwali of Amir Khushro. He gave different look to this Qawwali. He gave a different tint of Sindhi culture.

His mother name was Hafiza Jamal, which was the daughter of Maulana Nemat Ullah Hamdani. He was born near Ganjha - A small place in Lahore, in A.D.1209; and died in 1324 in the Delhi.

     According to some legends surrounding Haji Ali's life, he saw that one woman was crying on the road. He asked the reason behind crying. The woman sobbed that her husband would trash her as she stumbled and accidentally oil that she was carrying are split to out. For this reason, she was crying.
     He asked her to take him to the place where the oil split out. Haji Ali peer goes to the spot and he jabbed a finger and oil gushed out. The woman filled the vessel and woman thanked him and went to him.

The Peer Haji Ali was advised to his followers that, after his death put the dead body into the sea and build the Dargah at the spot whereas his dead body comes after floating.

Biography of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya

Nizamuddin Auliya was born in Badayun which is in the state of  Uttar Pradesh. As Nizamuddin Auliya was the fourth Khalifa of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti of Ajmer Sharif he had respect to the Khwaza Garib Nawaz. The Khwaza Moinuddin Chishti order him to believe in moving closer to God through renunciation of the world and service to humanity, and Auliya. He had faith for poor peoples. He was a great contributor from a very young age. He is also known as Nizam-ad-Din Auliya. The father of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, Abdullah Bin Ahmad AlHussaini died when Nizamuddin was a child. So, He was raised by his mother named Bibi Julekha who was a very devout woman. Nizamuddin Auliya came to Delhi from the U.P with his mother. The great musician and Father of Kawwali Ameer Khushro was student of Hazrat Nuzamuddin Auliya.

He was interested to learn Quran and getting the knowledge.  Mother of Nizamuddin ensured that her son learned to recite the holy Quran and studied traditions of the Prophet Hazrat Mohammed. He grew up to be an intelligent and sharp boy who excelled not only in religious studies and the Quran but also in subjects like mathematics and astronomy. He didn't marry whole life.

He had the interest to meet saints and he liked to get in touch with great saints. When he was 20 years old he became a Murid of the Sufi saint Fariduddin Ganjshakar and Bakhtiyar Kaki; which was the great saint of his time. His best meet to  Fariduddin Ganjshakkar commonly known as Baba Farid. He was attached to Baba Farid Ganjshakar and received spiritual training along with lessons in "Awarif-ul-Ma'Arif" and "Tamheed Abu Shakoor Salmi" which is a unique publication of  Sufi Saint Hazrat Shihabuddin.  Nizamuddin Auliya became the founder of the Chisti Nizami order.

Nizamuddin Auliya lived a very simple life. He has belonged to the poor family. He wore simple clothes. He spent his day by eating a barley bread with vegetable soup.

History of Haji Malang

Haji Malang was a great Sufi Saint who came to India in starting of the 12th century in the small village of Maharashtra.

In Thane district of the state of Maharashtra, a king "Nal Raja" ruled. The atrocities on the common population and the ruin created in his state by the demons reached unbearable proportions. The cry from the afflicted had reached to God. So, God ordered Baba Haji Malang to visit the place from where these crimes against the society are committed and to ensure safety. Baba Haji Malang had compassion for poor peoples.

Baba Haji Malang and his followers reached the small village called Brahman wadi. On reaching, he felt very thirsty and asked for water from a house which belongs to a Brahman Family. The Brahman, realizing that Baba Malang and his followers are very tired. He arranged for a place to rest and offered them Milk instead of water. This holy act of the Brahman was appreciated by Baba Haji Malang and he blessed him. Haji Malang Baba leaves the Brahman for complete the work ordered by God, earliest.

Some legends are believed that the King and Queen have been turned into stone and they are stone even today; Which is the miracle of Baba Haji Malang. Haji Malang was the great saint of his time.

There is a very interesting story behind the place called "Ghoday Ki Taap"; from which clean and drinking water comes out. One time Haji Malang Baba came on their horse at the bottom of the mountain. The actual hight of this mountain was three times higher than an original mountain; which is now. When Haji Malang Baba saw the peak of the mountain horse jump till the peak of mountain and mountain hight decreased by three times. There are fingerprints of their horse from where water started coming out from the fingerprints and water comes out till today. No one knows how and from where this water is coming. This place is known as Ghoday ki Taap. This is the big miracle of Haji Malang Baba.

Urs of Haji Malang comes once a year around the month of January. The trust of Haji Malang Dargah distributes the Niaz to people who present in the urs. This urs is celebrated as the festival of Haji Malang Baba.

So, Hazrat Bhaktawar Shah and Hazrat Sultan  Shah also stayed there till the end of their life. Haji Malang Baba said if you want to meet me or give me Salami you Have to first meet or give Salami to Hazrat Bhaqtawar shah and Hazrat Sultan Shah Dargah.

It is believed that The Haji Ali Dargah is made by the Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari. Haji Ali decided to renounce all worldly possessions and become a saint before going for the hajj to the Makka Sharif. Pir Haji Ali died on the way of the Macca and his body arrived at the dargah, miracally.

However other legends believe that the Dargah was built on the point where Haji Ali was drowned. It was the miracle of Haji Ali that the casket of the body floated to the Dargah.

The Dargah was built in 1431 A.D. The Haji Ali Dargah has two important monuments first tomb of the Haji Ali Shah Bukhari and second is Mosque. The Dargah is made of the 'Makrana' marble, the same marble Shah Jahan use to build Taj-Mahal.

This Dargah is a wonderful example of Mughal and Indo-Islamic architecture. The area that Haji Ali Dargah covers are very large. Around 4500 sq. meters area is cover by the Dargah. Dargah is 85 feet tall. The main mosque OF Haji Ali Dargah is brocaded with a red and green sheet are the first structures you see while entering the Dargah complex.

The Death Anniversary - URS of Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari (R.A.) is on the 16th of Rabi-ul-Aakhir (17th Shab). The Trust distributes Niyaaz (Food / Sweets) to all devotees, visitors, and fakirs during the Urs of Haji Ali Shah Bukhari.


A special program of Milad, prayers, and Niaz is held on the 16th of every Islamic Month after Namaaz-e-Isha (17th Shab). Lakhs of people visit the Dargah during the Urs of Piya Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari.
