History    

It is believed that The Haji Ali Dargah is made by the Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari. Haji Ali decided to renounce all worldly possessions and become a saint before going for the hajj to the Makka Sharif. Pir Haji Ali died on the way of the Macca and his body arrived at the dargah, miracally.

However other legends believe that the Dargah was built on the point where Haji Ali was drowned. It was the miracle of Haji Ali that the casket of the body floated to the Dargah.

The Dargah was built in 1431 A.D. The Haji Ali Dargah has two important monuments first tomb of the Haji Ali Shah Bukhari and second is Mosque. The Dargah is made of the 'Makrana' marble, the same marble Shah Jahan use to build Taj-Mahal.

The Death Anniversary - URS of Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari (R.A.) is on the 16th of Rabi-ul-Aakhir (17th Shab). The Trust distributes Niyaaz (Food / Sweets) to all devotees, visitors, and fakirs during the Urs of Haji Ali Shah Bukhari.


A special program of Milad, prayers, and Niaz is held on the 16th of every Islamic Month after Namaaz-e-Isha (17th Shab). Lakhs of people visit the Dargah during the Urs of Piya Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari.


There is also a special function on Eid-E-Milad-Un -Nabi (birthday of prophet Hazrat Mohammad) after Namaz-e-Zohr. Niaz is distributed after Namaz-e-Maghrib.
